This Is How Our Story Began

Holla At Cha' Girl Salon & Academy provides a program to young women ranging from 9-18 years old. Holla At Cha' Girl Salon & Academy teaches young ladies the fundamentals of how to maintain their own hair care as well as the importance of self-care, love, personal hygiene, and building friendships with like-minded peers. They also learn how to communicate effectively.

This is one of the very few programs in the Metro area that teaches young people basic fundamentals. Each workshop provides a different focus and none of the workshops are the same. Friendships are formed and relationships are the built-in result of attending the workshops.

Please review the list of different workshops on our CLASSES page. After reviewing, please determine which workshop best fits the need/s of your daughter/son. There is a different fee/requirement for each workshop. Please take advantage of payment options offered, if need. Workshops are held monthly, both beginner and intermediate.

Holla At Cha' Girl Salon is a Black Owned and operated salon. Instructional teaching is taught by Mrs. Michelle (Mickey) the owner of Holla At Cha' Girl Salon & Academy LLc., She has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 20 years and has been a licensed instructor for the last 10 years.

Mrs. Michelle is a hands -on instructor and provides 1 on 1 instructional teaching to each of her students, she also offers her students an opportunity to earn high school credit hours by working at the salon once applicable courses have been completed.

Message from owner...

I've had a passion to be a hair dresser since I was a young child, and at the age of 13 I begin experimenting with my friends and family to get practice. I attended Crockett Vocational School from 1990 - 1993 for cosmetology and received my license in 2000. I begin working in professional hair salons after receiving my license and in 2007 I was blessed to open my own hair salon. In 2016, I received my cosmetology instructors license. This business has been good to me and I truly love it!!
